Your time is finally here, graduates! You did it—you’ve made it. You have worked incredibly hard throughout your LSC degree, and we are excited to celebrate that accomplishment with you. Although we cannot celebrate together in-person this year, we still want to recognize the accomplishments of the class of 2020.
We are so proud of all of the UW-Madison graduates. The crisis at the end of your time with us has not only brought all of us in LSC closer together as a community. COVID-19 has also highlighted how well a degree in life sciences communication prepares you for a world in which science and the communication of it fundamentally affects all parts of our society. What we are experiencing now will shape generations yet to come, and while we will all have different reactions to this news, we are proud of you as our newest Badger alumni for your resilience, grace, and compassion during these difficult times.
It’s time to celebrate! LSC graduates are invited to join the department in a virtual celebration this Friday, May 8th from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM CT. Information was sent to the graduates via their wisc.edu emails. Family and friends are welcome to join! Contact Tera Holtz Wagner with questions.
We will hear special congratulatory messages from LSC Professor and Chair Dominique Brossard, Director of Undergraduate Studies Dietram Scheufele, and Director of Graduate Studies Bret Shaw, and – most importantly – recognize all of our graduates individually!
If you cannot attend LSC’s virtual celebration but wish to be part of our #UWGrad celebration, post via social media! Share your stories, inspirations, and graduation photos on social media using #uwgrad (or #uwgradcals) and tagging LSC’s Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram accounts.
Graduates, you have pushed through hard times and made it here today. We are proud to call you our future.
Congratulations to the Class of 2020, and On, Wisconsin!
