2011 LSC graduate Katie Dogs, who is now with the agricultural public relations firm Osborn & Barr’s Animal Practice Group, has been recognized for her outstanding strategic communication work.
Dogs authored a press release for Merck Animal Health that was awarded first place in the Best of NAMA-Region II Ceremony in Kansas City earlier this month. You can read her press release, “Dairy Industry Makes Strides in Respiratory Management,” here. Her work will now be considered for the National Best of NAMA Awards in spring 2012.
“The hands-on, approach offered in our LSC curriculum is just one of many reasons that our students enter the work force fully prepared to be productive, revenue-generating participants in the communications and marketing arena,” said Associate Faculty Associate Sarah Botham, who Dogs credits with influencing her writing and public relations skills. “Katie has seen success so early in her career because through her LSC experiences she came to the table already comfortable in the rhythms and expectations of the professional world. She was a shining star in LSC and I know that she will continue to excel and make a difference in the world of ag marketing.”
Osborn & Barr is a strategic communications agency with offices in St. Louis and Kansas City that serves clients in production agriculture, outdoor, food and feed industries. Dogs’ key clients include the Livestock Improvement Corporation and Merck Animal Health.
