Choi’s work lies in the intersection of environmental communication, science communication, and media psychology. Her work broadly investigates how individuals make sense of climate change information and climate justice through the media, and the psychological processes through which climate change communication can increase civic engagement related to climate change. As a Civic Science Fellow, her research focuses on understanding evidence-based approaches to communicating science in a way that meaningfully connects the public across different ideological or value-based fault lines, and  developing real-world strategies that can increase public engagement with science.

Choi’s work has been published in Science Communication and the Journal of Environmental Psychology. She earned her Ph.D. in Communication and Media from the University of Michigan and her B.A. in Communication and Business Administration from Korea University.
