LSC faculty member Dietram A. Scheufele, John E. Ross Chaired Professor in Science Communication and co-PI of the Center for Nanotechnology in Society at Arizona State University, serves as a lead organizer for an upcoming National Academy of Sciences (NAS) colloquium on “The Science of Science Communication.”

The colloquium will bring together world-renown scholars of science communication, including fellow LSC faculty Dominique Brossard, to discuss the state of the field of science communication. Scholars will share the latest empirical social science research coming out of a diverse range of sub-disciplines, including psychology, risk communication, health communication, sociology and political science, with goals of deepening understanding of effective communication of science to broader publics and strengthening relationships between scholars. It will be held in Washington, D.C., May 21 to 22nd.

The event is part of the Arthur M. Sackler Colloquia series designed to address scientific topics that cross traditional disciplinary boundaries. For more information on the colloquium and to register, visit the National Academy of Sciences here.
