LSC prides itself on a community culture that celebrates diversity. Our faculty and staff include members who were born in, or who have spent significant portions of their lives in, Argentina, Canada, England, France, Germany, India, and, of course, North America. As a department, we further fulfill The Wisconsin Idea through our relationships with UW-Extension, WSUM Madison Student Radio, Wisconsin Public Radio and Wisconsin Public Television.

Our alumni testify to the importance of the combination of practical and theoretical knowledge that we impart. Our faculty scholars fuel growth in communication theory; and our instructional staff complement faculty strengths by bringing practical insight and professional networks into our classrooms. Our instructional staff pursues high-profile professional careers in addition to sharing their skills with our students.
