kyleWSUM’s Sports Director, Kyle Deckelbaum, has been given Honorable Mention on the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America’s (STAA) list of best collegiate sportscasters in 2011. Founded in 2005 by former ESPN Radio Host and Sporting News Radio Talent, Jon Chelesnik, STAA is the nation’s premiere sports broadcasting career builder. Services include sports broadcasting job placement assistance, career planning and consulting and sports broadcasting demos and resume construction.

As the Sports Director on WSUM, Kyle oversees the station’s sports coverage. He is in charge of on-air personnel for broadcasts and shows, the Sports News Team, the logistics of home and away game coverage, and maintaining the overall on- and off-air presence of WSUM Sports.”We are hoping for a leap into the top 20 or perhaps even the All-American team next year!” expreses WSUM General Manager Dave Black.
