lsc’s shiela reaves will give “understanding the art of vision” talk september 9

LSC Professor Shiela Reaves will speak on “Understanding the Art of Vision” at the opening reception of the “About Seeing” exhibit at the James Watrous Gallery at the Overture Center for the Arts Sunday, September 9.

The “About Seeing” exhibit, which opens August 31, will focus on how vision science and art interact. It will explore how the work of the three featured artists, Daniel John O’Neal, Heidi Lasher-Oakes and Tom Linfield, has evolved in response to significant vision loss. The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s McPherson Eye Research Institute, which Reaves is affiliated with, is the exhibit’s major sponsor.

The opening reception is free and open to the public. Find out more about the exhibit and the opening reception here.
