Mark Abramson performs duties as the department’s IT expert, providing outstanding service in regards to all computer-related issues, installations, and daily maintenance. Abramson also supports LSC by maintaining all inventory records for A/V equipment, computers, copiers, and other miscellaneous items. Prior to joining LSC, he worked for American Family Insurance and M&I Bank (now BMO Harris Bank). Abramson is an alumnus of LSC with a B.S. in Agricultural Journalism.

Anna Adams meets with prospective students and advises new and current undergraduate students within the Life Sciences Communication major. She is available for afternoon appointments. She also supports the department’s student records, graduate program, enrollment, and curriculum processes.
Anna is an alumna of the UW-Madison School of Business and has master’s degrees in College Student Affairs and Cultural Studies in Educational Foundations. Prior to joining LSC, she advised UW Biology major students as well as the WSUM Madison Student Radio organization and worked at the University of Tennessee’s College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Sandra Bennett is the Department Administrator for LSC. She is responsible for ensuring that departmental needs are met in the areas of personnel, instruction, grant and gift administration, budget management, and payroll. She is also the department administrator for the Department of Agronomy, the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems, and Agroecology. She has been with the college over twenty years.

Tera Holtz meets with prospective students and advises new and current undergraduates in LSC. She also helps coordinate the LSC graduate program and helps with enrollment and curriculum review. Tera received her bachelor’s degree from UW-Madison in International Studies and Political Science with a Certificate in African Studies. As a first-generation college student, she is thrilled to help students from all backgrounds throughout their college career and beyond. Tera is also currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Higher Education Leadership from UW-Whitewater. Prior to joining LSC, Tera was an Outreach Specialist for the UW-Madison Neuroscience Training Program focused on recruitment and admissions for the PhD program and community outreach.

Sue Mielke is the Financial Specialist for LSC. She provides financial management and maintenance of LSC department accounting transactions, purchasing and processing of supplies, and equipment and reimbursement processes. In addition, she monitors department budgets, reports, and billings from research grants and gift funds. Prior to becoming a UW employee, Mielke was a Clinical Operations Coordinator for Next Generation Medical Research.

Brennan Porter assists with various departmental needs, most notably setting up course availability and structure for enrollment of classes. He is the main contact for course offerings and changes while also providing support with all general inquiries. Brennan is an alumnus of UW-La Crosse in Communication and Sociology and is pursuing his Master’s Degree in Counseling – Higher Education. Before joining LSC, he worked for Globe Education Network in administration, career services, and admissions departments.
